Celebrating Community and Culture: Our Eid Event – 31st March 2026
On the 31st of March 2026, we proudly hosted a vibrant and inclusive Eid celebration, bringing together members of the RBKC community and neighbouring boroughs for a day of unity, recognition, and joy.
The event was honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including the Mayor of RBKC and his consort, Ahmed Faafale, Regional Minister from Somalia, as well as the Director of Dadihiye Somali Development Organisation. Their attendance highlighted the importance of community cohesion and the shared values that bring us together.
Guests enjoyed a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a communal lunch served to all attendees. The gathering provided an opportunity for people from diverse backgrounds to connect, celebrate, and strengthen relationships within the community.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates to women who successfully participated in our sewing sessions. These sessions have been an important initiative in empowering women with practical skills, confidence, and opportunities for personal development. Recognising their achievements was a proud and meaningful moment for everyone involved.
During the event, the Mayor also took time to acknowledge the ongoing work of Dadihiye Somali Development Organisation, commending its commitment to supporting and uplifting the local community. This recognition reinforces the impact of our efforts and motivates us to continue delivering valuable programmes and services.
Overall, the Eid event was a great success celebrating culture, community spirit, and achievement. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day so special.
We look forward to continuing to bring people together and creating more opportunities for connection and growth in the future.
